September Newsletter

September has arrived!

Fall is in the air (yes I am optimistic it is only going to be 90 today)!!!

August was great, the kiddos are now back in school and we have been blessed with rain in what is usually the hottest month for Texans (setting a record of over 5 inches of rain for the state in the month - the most ever since they began record keeping)! The year is continuing to fly by – I will be a little less busy as my classes were cancelled for Tech and I only have one for MCC so that means I get to breathe!

We are still working diligently on getting the website full of the pictures and all the inventory re-entered into the system. If you haven’t checked us out online please click on over and check it out www.tomorrowsquilts.com

We have pushed, shoved and rearranged again this week to get all of the new fabric out on the floor, but Tina is a miracle worker and found room for it all! We have the new Rifle and Paper Company collection from Cotton and Steel, the entire 42 bolts of the new Aunt Grace is out, a new collection from Me & My Sister called “Brighten Up” as well as a very cute bear line! In addition we have  two new baby lines – A Miracle and the Gabby Quilts collection. You may remember Gabby from when Linda owned the store, it is a cute book collection where the little girl sews for her friends, the new book is “Gabby Quilts for Baby Brother” and this time they decided to introduce a fabric line to go with the book as well as a pattern booklet to make the quilt that Gabby makes for her brother.

Speaking of Baby fabrics on October the first (11am – 1pm) and October the fourth (5-7pm) we will be hosting a Susybee trunk show. I will be carrying the Susybee line of fabrics and want to share her story with all of you – it is the cutest fabric and the story behind it is wonderful. This line of fabric will never be on sale as I have committed to donating 20% of the profits to the Primary Ciliary Foundation – a foundation near and dear to my heart as it is the condition that Les suffers from, so I will be sharing that story as well during the trunk show. Please plan to attend as we will be having a celebration with refreshments, and door prizes during the trunk show.

A quick update on Premier Club – we have 5 slots left in the 1pm time slot, once that one is full we will open the 4pm time if anyone is interested in that time slot before the 1pm fills just let me know and if enough are interested we will go ahead and open it up as well. It is lots of fun and a great time of sharing!

To celebrate fall and the kiddos being back in school there are two big sales starting:

Handi Quilter is offering a zero down and zero interest on the new HQ Stitch sewing machines!

And our “color” of the month is not a color!!! Instead all fall and “school” fabrics are 15% off this month!!!

Classes and Clubs for September:

On September 6, we will kick off our six week Intermediate Quilters Class. This class will be ever changing with a new quilt pattern each time as we look to improve our quilting skills by learning new or different methods to create quilt blocks. This class is both a follow-up to our Beginners class as well as a stand alone class for those who want to hone the focus technique for the class. Sue is on vacation this week so I am not sure which pattern she has chosen, but once she is back I will send out an email to all of those interested in the class. This class meets every Tuesday evening from 5-7pm for six weeks. After this class we will begin again with our introduction to Quilting class, followed by our Beginner class. This is our only intermediate quilt class this year as we will be taking December off to focus on getting those Christmas projects finished and wrapped in time!

You will receive a free quilt pattern for attending game night. This is a fabric swap game so be prepared to have some fun with your friends while petting fabric!!!! You must call and reserve your seat at the tables! Each hour is limited to 18 people so if you are wanting to be in a certain group make sure you get together and decide on your hour before each of you call to reserve your place - we cannot take reservations for groups, as we need to make sure each person is dedicated to coming so the maximum amount of fun can be had by all. If you can't make it to the game after you have made reservations please call at least 48 hours prior to game night so we can call people on the waiting list.

The Fourth Prairie Women's Circle will be September 17th at 2pm!
I am excited to be hosting this circle where we learn about our fore-mothers and the history and art of quilting all as we learn how to "make do" share fabric with each other and make yo-yos together! So to find the pictures go check out Facebook!!!! I will post the new fabric lines there now so you all can see the pictures.
