October Newsletter

October and Cooler weather has arrived!

Well, so much for my high hopes of fall in September as we set record highs!!

We are still working diligently on getting the website full of the pictures and have worked out the bug that wouldn’t let you check out so, of you haven’t checked us out online please click on over and check it out www.tomorrowsquilts.com

We have pushed, shoved and rearranged (and my wonderful husband made us more shelves) again this month, and Tina continues to amaze as she finds room for it all! The newest Bonnie and Camille line, Handmade, is out on the floor and the line and the quilt is just beautiful!!! In addition the new Tula Pink line, Slow and Steady, has made its way to Waco! And Moda has taken flight with their new line that is aviation inspired.

We are welcoming the newest baby line to central Texas with the Susybee collection, this is some of the cutest baby/children’s fabric that I have seen. Each purchase of this fabric will benefit the Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia Foundation (PCD). PCD is a very rare genetic condition (only 500 known cases in the USA) that my youngest child, Les, suffers from, the Susybee fabric was a perfect fit for this, as its creator/designer paints murals for children’s hospitals and from all the time we spent in the hospital I know personally how much these paintings mean to the children and parents.

A quick update on Premier Club – we have 4 slots left in the 1pm time slot, once that one is full we will open the 4pm time if anyone is interested in that time slot before the 1pm fills just let me know and if enough are interested we will go ahead and open it up as well. It is lots of fun and a great time of sharing!

To celebrate the cooler weather finally arriving there are two big sales starting:

Handi Quilter is clearing out the floor models and making way for the new lines that are coming up at Fall market. All my floor models are on sale, and if you are looking for one of the larger models I can get you a floor model from Utah at great savings – so if you are looking to purchase a longarm, now is a great time!!

Our “color/theme” of the month for October is “Forest Friends” this is all fabrics that have forest animals on the print (this does not include the Susybee animals).

This game night you will need to bring 20 (Twenty) 2 1/2" strips (think jelly roll orphans) of fabric. You will receive a free quilt pattern for attending game night. This is a fabric swap game so be prepared to have some fun with your friends while petting fabric!!!! You must call and reserve your seat at the tables! October 22nd Children’s Sewing: Open to all children ages 8 & up who would like to continue sewing new projects throughout the year. This will be an ongoing class with new projects each month on the third Saturday of the month from 10-12.

The Fifth Prairie Women's Circle will be October 22nd at 2pm!
I am excited to be hosting this circle where we learn about our fore-mothers and the history and art of quilting all as we learn how to "make do" share fabric with each other and make yo-yos together! Last month due to trips and illness we were unable to get together, so this month we will play double up so you will need to bring a 6" square of DARK PRINT and Civil War fabric for our swap for last months swap and for this months!!! This class we will also be making our pin cushions! It is hard to believe this journey is over half way through!!! Journey two will begin in January 2017 for those of you who missed beginning this journey with us you may join in the fun on Journey 2.

Premier Club is Saturday November 5th from 10-12 for the Original Premier group; 1-3pm for group two and if we fill that group we will continue with group 3 from 4-5:30. This group usually meets on the last Saturday of the month, but since I will be in Houston at Fall Market, I thought it would be more fun for all if I not only shared our new fabrics but also any new gadget, tricks or techniques I picked up at market. If you are not signed up you need to hurry in and get signed up for this monthly premier of all of the new fabric and notions that has come in this month! Door prizes will be given as well as your gifts for joining - tote bag, pin, coffee cup/jump drive (your choice of the last two). Sign up now and get in on the fun!
